MPDSR/OQA Step Down Training in FCT Abuja

More than 20 participants from non-project hospitals in FCT Abuja attended the first Step Down Training of the e-platform www.noqa-network.ng. The training is the first of its kind since the introduction of e-platform. The two-day training solely sponsored by FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat was to bring on board the remaining five non-project hospitals on the platform so that they can access, enter and analyze data, to derive appropriate intervention measures. The hospitals include: Maitama, Wuse, Gwarinpa, Asokoro and Rubochi General Hospital. The participants comprised Chairmen, Secretaries, Matrons of Maternity and Neonatal wards as well as Medical Record Officers from these hospitals. The training was facilitated by Prof. Oladapo Shittu, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Ahmadu Bello University and Teaching Hospital Zaria. The training session was led by Rotary’s National MCH Coordinator, Prof. E. Adedolapo Lufadeju, with great support by the projects chief midwife Liyatu Esubihi.

The training was a great success, because the FCT statistician was up to the task and the MROs demonstrated the ability to begin the input of data including Monthly maternal statistics, Maternal & Perinatal Death alerts, reviews of both Maternal and Perinatal Deaths, entry of LNG-IUS Data, community dialogues, automatic generation of reports and derivation of appropriate intervention measures.
