Support the nationwide Family Planning Campaign in Nigeria

The beacon project will be presented as German contribution to the Rotary Convention 2019 in Hamburg. This was strongly recommended by all participants of the "Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinators & District Rotary Foundation Committee Chairs" in February 2018. For this to succeed, contributions from all German, Austrian, Swiss Clubs and Districts are needed:

With the nationwide family planning campaign in Nigeria, Rotary, supported by RFPD, aims to achieve sustainable population growth under humane conditions. This is prerequisite to initiate the long-awaited Demographic Dividend leading to a sustained economic prosperity. Through targeted promotion of self-determined family planning, a significant step is taken to enable families, to have the desired number of children and to be able to care for them. This is entirely in line with the Nigerian population, mandated by the government and with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). First steps for the implementation of the project with a total amount of up to 2 million € are already in preparation. The implementation is ensured by the many years of experience of RFPD in Nigeria. In order to be able to use the offered co-financing, an own contribution corresponding to the size of the project has to be generated. We need a sum of 500,000 € up to 1 million €  in order to be able to receive co-financing from the BMZ with the corresponding funding from TRF. For lectures in clubs to raise the donations, we provide extensive material. At the spring meeting of the district TRF Chairs it was agreed to ask Clubs for a donation of at least 500 €. Single donations are highly appreciated. Rotary Deutschland Gemeindienst e.V. (RDG) handles the donations:
